Motor power (W) - watts drive acceleration, top speed and hill climbing. A single 350-500 W motor is plenty for flat city streets; higher-wattage and dual-motor scooters pull harder from a standstill, hold speed uphill and carry heavier riders without bogging down.
Battery (V, Ah and Wh) - voltage (V) multiplied by capacity (Ah) gives the energy in watt-hours (Wh). More Wh means more range, but also more weight. Wh is the single best number for comparing how far two scooters will really go.
Real-world range - the manufacturer figure is measured in ideal conditions. Expect roughly 60-80% of it in practice, and less in cold weather, uphill, into a headwind or with a heavier rider.
Legal speed (25 km/h) - a light electric vehicle is capped at 25 km/h for public roads and paths. Models with a 25 km/h limit are made for everyday street use; faster, unrestricted scooters are intended for private property and closed tracks.
Tyres (pneumatic vs solid) - air-filled pneumatic tyres give the best grip and ride comfort but can puncture; solid (honeycomb) tyres never go flat and need no maintenance, at the cost of a firmer ride. Pneumatic suits longer rides and rough surfaces; solid suits low-hassle short commutes.
